Notice of Opening Hours, 1897

Description
The opening hours of the Art Museum, including evenings and Sunday afternoons, were extremely unusual and reflected Thomas Horsfall's commitment to enabling working people to visit at times that were convenient for them. Evening opening also emphasised the idea that the Art Museum was a social, as well as an educational, space for both children and adults.
