Social Gathering, Association of Sewing Machinists
Description
The Art Museum hosted events for women workers, such as the many sewing machinists who worked in and around Ancoats. Although the Art Museum and University Settlement were not explicitly political in their ideals and activities, they worked in partnership with trade unions to offer support to workers and their families.
